Give me some SOY!

Scrapbooker of the Year that is! (For Creative Keepsakes Magazine)

Why? Why did I stay up late, and create under pressure??
Why did I overnight my entry today (thus restricting my driving the rest of the week to pay for UPS's gas!)
Why, you ask? :)

Cuz I wanted to give it a try.

NOOOOO... I don't start with a local contest... the fair... Hall of Fame... Making Memories Masters... or even a store or website contest. No. Never have entered a scrapbooking contest. Until now. Why? Cuz why not TRY for the $10,000! And the 2 year contract with CK... and LOTS of free product! :)

Cuz the why IS now a "why not!" and I am entered!

I challenged myself, had fun, got frustrated-but I accomplished something, none-the-less!

Wish me luck! :)

Memorial Day Weekend Get-Away!

THANK you Ellison's (and Sim's) for an AWESOME weekend away!!

The kids are STILL talking about it! They want to go back to the lake "to swim"!

Your generosity was a glorious gift! Now if I can just get Dad to get one of those lake houses! Come on DAD-your parents had one! :)

ANYWAY, we had a great time, and I wanted to share the highlights!

The kids spent SO much time riding down the driveway and around the cul-de-sac! TOO funny!

Downtown was very quaint! Fun window shopping! GREAT samples! :) Still wish I had taken home some of that Raspberry wasabi dressing!

The trip to the lake was a hoot! The kids had such a fun time getting all wet!

You'll all be glad that I put this into a slide show! There are like 60 pictures in it!
DANG we had fun!

Enjoy!

The boys end of school year activities!

I am SO behind! {Warning-LONG post!} I can NOT go two weeks without posting again!!! No No!
I am going to have to sit here for awhile to get caught up! I mean, this isn't ALL suppose to be about scrapbooking! :)

Gabriel and Gavin ended their school year last week! Actually, Gabriel's last day was the 16th! Gavin had activities through the next Tuesday! He's getting to be such a big guy! Going into 2nd grade!! And Gabriel, my baby, will be going into Kindergarten!

Cora has three more days left-tomorrow, and next Monday and Tuesday... and next year, we have decided, she will be in Kindergarten at Neil Armstrong. She is working hard, but still needs some help with some behavioral issues. If she becomes integrated to full time regular kindergarten (right now she will be in 50% regular, 50% special ed.) she will then move to Heritage with the boy. Please continue to pray for Cora. She is doing well, and just needs a little extra help.

Gabriel's class, with the Kindergarten class, went to the zoo their last day! YAY!

Gabriel's "best friends" (keep in mind, everyone in his class is his best friend!!)
Brady and Elijah. Hangin' out with the Elephants!

When did they get a 4th giraffe?? :)

Who's watching who?

Gabriel also "graduated" from pre-school to Kindergarten. Too funny! Poor kids, they graduate from pre-school to Kindergarten, and then kindergarten to 1st grade, and then that's it until high school! LOL!
Regardless, it is too cute!
Hey-if the girls can wear flip flops, so can Gabriel! :) He INSISTED on wearing his new flip flops! LOL! OK, how sweet are they??

Mrs. Schadel ROCKS! :) She is SO patient and kind. No matter the personalities of the children, they follow her like little ducks! Not that they are always perfect, but if their performance this night is any indication!!!

Doing his part during pledges...

Just like his Daddy! :) (though Daddy doesn't draw all over his guitar! :) )

Diploma time!

"The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear" enacted.

He kinda looks like that guy there! :)

The whole class!

Off to celebrate at the park! Fly high Gabriel! We love you!!!

We can't forget elementary awards night!!Gavin got a reward for joyfulness...
and his Gold Metal Reading Award. He also got a Presidential Fitness Award for the percentile he performed in... those awards/patches are not here yet.

Congrats buddy! We love you so much Gavin!!!

Heritage Christian School has been an AWESOME school for our children!
We can't wait to start another year!! Now if I can just get the years to slow down a bit-I'll be set!! :)

OK, they said I could ANNOUNCE it!

I am going to be in Scrapbook Trends in September!!!

(Not just because this, but {wink})It is my FAVORITE magazine.

Yes, it is a little more expensive, but it is more like a monthly idea book, not a magazine!

AND we get it monthly at Scrapaganza!

I am very honored and excited to be in this awesome magazine!

One of the editors said it is safe enough to announce, so there ya have it!

HOW EXCITING!!

"Session" to share...

I have been told I have an "eye" for photography.
Now if I can just get the knowledge of my camera to match, we'll be in business.

But if the conditions are in my favor, it turns out alright! :)

These are some pictures of a friends child. I am very pleased with the results!
It wasn't planned... I just saw him in his neutral outfit, I was watching him for 30 minutes or so, and it turned into a photo session! I think I am going to keep these beads! They were fun in the pictures!

Some are unaltered, a few are cropped a bit, and others, I had fun playing with a touch of affect here and there!

I am one of MANY scrapbookers picking up the camera and considering a more professional approach-and possibly learning to become a professional!

If you would like me to give it a try with you or someone you love, give me a call! :)

Thanks for looking!

And if you would like to give me the opportunity to give this a try on yourself or those you love, send me an email! :)

Spring Program AND Mothers Day...

It's getting to the end... another year gone by.
Gabriel will be going into Kindergarten.
Gavin into SECOND grade...
Cora into kindergarten...
{sigh}
Where does the time go!
But then-I am sure my Dad is wondering how his kid got to be {almost} 40!!

The school had a WONDERFUL performance for the Spring Program and fundraiser.
There was a silent auction, dinner, and a show.
Our school may be small, but they do everything big, and well!

Gavin did great... the food was great, and a great time was had by all!!

Here are a few photo's of the highlights! :)

Nice shirt. :)

I can NOT for the life of me think of the name of the group that put on the play and performed the play with our kids! But they were GREAT!

The auctions getting HOT!

Gabriel LOVED the play! Would not take his eyes OFF the happenings!

Aren't they cute?

Speaking of CUTE!

My little lion!

Yes, I'm 12... and my husband knows it.
And my kids love it!
For Mothers day, they went to Built-a-Bear for me... well, at first he thought I wanted to go with, then we didn't have time, then I went to go grocery shopping-thinking, no Mothers Day surprises for ME... (big pouting)

I get home and THIS is what was waiting for me!

This one WELL dressed leopard!

HELLO!!! I want jeweled crocs!! LOL! Crocs is missing the boat here! :)

I love my family! I love my leopard... the kids named her "Nice Heart". I can live with that.

Lots of gripping about the bright glare, etc... WHY is it so hard to get a good group picture? :)

Have a great week! Off to scrapbook! (Yeah right!)

Another for Paper Trunk

I can't get enough of these yummy papers! And with boys, I think this line is perfect! Yet there is enough frill, if you had a girl in mind, great!

And there are plenty of big circles and flowers within the line to cut and create embellishment!

Do ya not LOVE 3D foam dots??

I added some K&Co. paper ribbon, and a Jenni Bowlin mini-die cut and chalkboard letters. And a bit of her paper too...

I have one more Paper Trunk LO and a clipboard coming!

Thanks for looking!
